About

Gregory D. Weber earned a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Evansville (1973), then a Ph.D. in Philosophy (1980) and M.B.A. (1981) from Indiana University.

Weber worked for nine years in industry. At Schreiber Foods, Inc., in Green Bay, Wisconsin, he developed computer-based financial planning models. Moving to St. Paul, Minnesota, he served 3M as a consultant, developing computer simulations of integrated manufacturing systems and electronic document systems.

Weber then returned to academia. After teaching computer science for a year at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama, he earned an M.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from The University of Michigan. He joined the faculty of Indiana University East as Assistant Professor of Computer Science. From 1992 he taught numerous courses through multiple curriculum and degree changes, until retiring as Associate Professor Emeritus of Computer Science and Informatics in 2017.

In 2020 Weber founded the Schola Cantorum of St. Gabriel, a choir specializing in Gregorian chant, seeking to restore the lost musical treasure of the Church, “a treasure of inestimable value,” as the Second Vatican Council declared (Sacrosanctum concilium, 112). He directs the choir and plays organ at First Friday masses at St. Peter Church in Huber Heights, Ohio.
